Look At The Helpful Nikon 50mm 1.8 Evaluation And Find Out Why This Lens Is Such A Joy To Use

No Nikon 50mm 1.8 review would be perfect without stating the highly sharp images that this lens creates, all for a very economical rate.

The focal length of 50mm is supposedly the closest in range and intensity to what the human eye perceives, and thereby it has enjoyed many years in the limelight as a good general purpose lens, doubling as a 75mm portraiture lens on an APS-C DSLR body.

Along with great picture quality and reasonable price, this lens is very light weight and little enough that it will simply live in your pocket, making it an ideal mobile lens for no further effort.

Optically, the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens contains 6 elements organized in 5 groups (with the aperture system having 7 diaphragm blades). The lowest distance of focusing is 0.45m and the filter size is 52mm.

As was said previously, this lens is pretty small at just 64x39mm plus light at only 155g.

You may feel that because this lens is so cheap, that its picture feature must be substandard as well. However, the build quality of this lens is rather good with a compounds of metal and polycarbonate as the primary materials.

The comparatively little rubber focus ring has a highly smooth focus and the front element does not turn with a polarizer connected so this is an additional positive too - we all know how frustrating a rotating front part with a polarizer is.

In general the Nikon 50mm 1.8 does not have the same reputation that a lot of the leading Nikon lenses do, but it is yet a quiet and very efficient achiever in its own right.

It does not come up short badly in any particular area, maybe the only bad point could be that it is soft on the borders wide open and perhaps contains a slight contrast deficiency too.

Of course for the price, these minor details can easily be ignored when buying this wonderful Nikkor 50mm 1.8.
